DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Department of Automation and Production Systems (DAPS) is a modern, developing, research and education institute belonging to the portfolio of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering departmens of University in Žilina.

The department's priority is education of specialists in the field of automation, programming and diagnostics of production machines, programming of industrial and service robots, computer-aided production engineering and design of automated production lines. In modernly equipped laboratories, students have the opportunity to work with the current production technology and computer programs, which are using in practice. The department also supports students in the idea of passing part of their studies at one of the foreign universities through exchange programmes (ERASMUS+, SAIA Programmes).

The Department of Automation and Production Systems was established on January 1, 2009 within the framework of the structure reorganization of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - its foundation is made up of employees of the Automation Detachment of the former Department of Machining and Automation. There are 2 professors, 4 associate   professors,   4  researchers,  3  project workers, 2 technical workers  and 3 doctoral students.
